PLAIN COMPASSION CRISIS (PCCR) RESPONSE TOURNAMENT

Who is PCCR?

Plain Compassion Crisis Response (PCCR) is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that was formed in the fall of 2014 as a response to the refugee crisis in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. The vision of this organization is to demonstrate God’s love by providing relief in areas of disaster that are not publicized widely and/or hard to access.

The mission of PCCR is to equip our volunteers with training and leadership skills needed to make a greater impact on the field and deploy them to the areas that we want to reach.

Where are we currently serving? 

Ukraine-Russia Conflict

Evacuations

On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and started a war. Civilians have started returning to their homes (or what is left of them), except the areas where the fighting still continues. Our team has established a base in eastern Ukraine and is currently working to evacuate people from the front lines, as well as providing temporary living accommodations at our shelter until they can be resettled somewhere more permanent. Pray for the civilians who are now working to find a new normal with the ongoing fighting, and that the war would soon stop. Pray for safety, wisdom and strength for our team, as they navigate the many needs that have been brought to them.

Rebuilding Homes

In 2025, we started a rebuilding project in areas further from the front lines, where homes are somewhat damaged but still mostly livable. We did a lot of roof repairs for the most vulnerable: elderly and single-parent households and children. Most of the time, the materials are available, all that is needed is the skill and manpower to repair the home so they can stay warm and dry during the winter. We’re resuming the project this summer, since the area of damaged homes is quite widespread and there is lots of work that needs to be done.
