The vision of Plain Compassion Crisis Response is to spread the love of God through disaster relief and humanitarian aid. And to equip this generation with the leadership skills needed to live a God-honoring life in today’s world.
Plain Compassion Crisis Response is a non-profit service organization that was formed the fall of 2014. The purpose of forming this organization was to provide international disaster response services as a means of showing God’s Love, and for opening doors to share the Good News to the lost and dying who have not heard. The specific need/opportunity presenting itself was the ISIS refugee crisis in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq and surrounding areas. Now, we respond to disasters on a national and international level to bring hope into dire situations, wherever the opportunity presents itself.
Where are we currently serving?
Haiti
Haiti has been in turmoil and has faced increasing gang violence since the president was assassinated in July of 2021. It is causing the biggest humanitarian disaster in the world as millions of people currently have little to no access to food or fresh drinking water. Starvation, along with a cholera outbreak, has already killed thousands of people.
Ukraine-Russia Conflict
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded the Ukraine and started war. Civilians have started returning to their homes (or what is left of them), except the areas where the fighting still continues. Our team has established a base in eastern Ukraine and is currently working to provide humanitarian aid to the areas locked between the conflicting armies. Pray for the civilians who are now working to find a new normal with the ongoing fighting, and that the war would soon stop. Pray for safety, wisdom and strength for our team, as they navigate the many needs that have been brought to them.
This will be a fun tournament supporting a great cause! Come on out for great food, awesome fellowship, and encouraging music!
